28 February 2019, Odesa, Ukraine. Odesa municipality hosted stakeholders meeting to report to the City Council, national government, international partners, donors, and citizens of Odesa first results of the Fast Track Cities municipal programme implementation and together with partners identify gaps, discuss challenges and agree on possible solutions to speed up the progress.

During 26-28 September in the picturesque Carpathians village Tatariv, the Ukrainian Network of Women living with HIV – Positive Women – organized their Third National Forum. The Forum was supported by UNAIDS, UNDP, UN Women and other international partners.

Within the frame of the Dutch – UNAIDS Partnership on Key Populations the Ukraine UNAIDS office supported a Budget advocacy school which took place from 30 September to 3 October 2017 in the city of Lviv.

The Tenth National Conference on LGBT Movement and MSM-Service of Ukraine "DIVERSITY AND EQUITY: Collaboration Policy, Realities and Priorities" was held in Kyiv on 19-22 October 2017 with an objective to strengthen coordination and increase the professionalism of the LGBT movement. The main topics of discussion during the conference were strategic information, elimination of discrimination on the basis of homophobia, coordination of activities between organizations representing key populations, challenges in conducting LGBT related public activities, LGBT advocacy priorities and many more.

On 5-7 September 2017, Ukraine, the UNAIDS Fast Track country, the first in the EECA region hosted the Global Experts meeting to develop a community-led evaluation framework for the promotion and roll out of the Sex Work Implementation Tool, SWIT.

Odesa in Ukraine has become the latest city to sign the Paris Declaration to end the AIDS epidemic in cities.

Since the end of 2014, more than 200 cities around the world have signed the Paris Declaration and are addressing the significant disparities in access to basic services, social justice and economic opportunity towards ending the AIDS epidemic.

The objective of the National Consultation has been to bring together the Government of Ukraine from both national and regional/local levels, civil society organizations, and development partners to draw up a Road Map towards building sustainability and enhancing strategic investments into the national HIV response through both HIV and broader programs.
